Do try this at work #2: the NWOW canvas
In the second edition of Do try this at work I’m excited to share with you the shiny new New Ways of Working Canvas.
The New Ways of Working Canvas
The canvas is designed to help you to get clear about some of the themes that are critical to progressive organising. Think purpose; roles and responsibilities; how you meet; how you make decisions; how you feedback to one another; and how information flows. Also to help you to reflect on relationships, how you communicate, and the tech you use.
So this is an invitation to make a copy of the board (click on the title in the top left and then ‘Duplicate’), have a good think about each of the themes, gather your team, agree which theme/s feel most important right now, start a conversation, and work towards getting clear. There’s more guidance over on the canvas, and I suggest using Butter rather than Zoom/Teams/Google Meet as it has Miro baked in 😍
I hope you find it useful and would love to hear how it goes with your team!
New Ways of Working Practice Event
On November 18 and 19 Reinventing Work are hosting a free 24-hour practice event, A playground for new ways of working. Starting at 09.00 GMT, you can head on a journey to Washington DC, Los Angeles, New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, Dubai, and back to London.
Wherever you are in the world, you’ll have the opportunity to learn and experience new ways of working before leaving with tangible thoughts, tools and ideas to take back to your own teams. Bring a colleague (or your whole team!) to double the fun and impact when you're back at work! Over 6 sessions in 6 different time zones, you can expect to:
Practice 'new ways of working', including online tools; how to make meetings more inclusive and participatory; distributed decision-making; and changing your approach to feedback.
Meet people with similar mindsets, who can support you to implement what you'll learn.
Discover tools that you can use to implement positive change in your work environment.
Experience a lively, participatory and fun event!
Practice makes p̶e̶r̶f̶e̶c̶t̶ good enough for now 😉
If you found this useful then do share it with your colleagues and networks.
